Fitness World Training Academy

Get to the Core: Prevent Back Injuries & Enhance Peformance. During this workshop participants will review anatomy and learn core activation and back exercise progressions. The first half is theory with the second half experiencing and teaching on the floor. Personal Trainers, Weight Room Instructors and Group Fitness Instructors.

17th Annual Vancouver Wellness Show

Come visit us February 6-8 2009 at the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre (Canada Place). We will be sharing booth space with Fitness World and participating in the demostration stage.

Winter Warm-Up:  Winter is still a time to play outside!  Whether you snowshoe, downhill ski, cross-country ski, ice skate, snowboard or enjoy other activities there is a proper way to get ready.  Your muscles, joints, nervous system and mind will enjoy these quick 5-15 minute warm-up activities.  Kinesiologist, Alfred Ball will also demonstrate some easy stretches for after. Open to General Public

Staying Balanced & Agile: Balance training has proven to reduce the risk of falls by as much as 40%.  Balance and agility are areas of fitness that decrease as we age and are often neglected in many gym routines.  Good balance and agility are needed for many activities for daily living as well as athletic endeavours.  Kinesiologist, Alfred Ball will explain what agility is and the difference between dynamic, static and transitional balance.  He will also demonstrate fun ways to include balance and agility training into your fitness program.
